Core Terms

Agreement

  • Definition: An agreement with an organization for an entitlement or resource. It serves as the root legal document governing the relationship.
  • Synonym: Contract (Salesforce)

Customer

  • Definition: The central business entity representing an organization or individual that has a relationship with SureInk.
  • Synonym: Account (Salesforce)

Project

  • Definition: An organizational unit used to group Agreements and Subscriptions. It allows for organizing multiple engagements under a single Customer.
  • Synonym: Engagement, Study (Clinical Context)

Subscription

  • Definition: A specific instance of a product or service purchased by a Customer under an Agreement. It defines the active period and value of the entitlement.
  • Synonym: Asset (Salesforce), Entitlement

Product

  • Definition: The definition of a good or service available for purchase. It serves as a template for Licenses and Subscriptions.
  • Synonym: SKU, Item

License

  • Definition: The technical artifact that grants access to specific features or products, often cryptographically signed.
  • Synonym: Key, Permit

Quote

  • Definition: A proposed agreement or set of products presented to a Customer for approval.
  • Synonym: Proposal

Sales Order

  • Definition: A confirmed intent by a Customer to purchase products or services, typically generated from an accepted Quote.
  • Synonym: Order

Invoice

  • Definition: A financial record requesting payment from the Customer for Orders or Usage.
  • Synonym: Bill

Usage

  • Definition: The measurement of consumption of a Resource by a Customer.
  • Synonym: Consumption, Metering

Resource

  • Definition: An asset or capability (e.g., Storage, API Calls) that is metered and protected by the platform.
  • Synonym: Metered Item
